Ham Alliance can befor the amateur radio industry.

Amateur radio is a hobby of extraordinary depth and diversity. It sustains thousands of small and large businesses that serve operators around the world. It is supported by multiple national and specialized associations and federations that defend the hobby's interests. Yet the hobby has long lacked a unified, collaborative grouping through which those businesses and organizations can advocate together, promote the hobby collectively, and ensure that regulations and spectrum policy reflect its needs.

Ham Alliance is being established to fill that gap.

Founding Principles

  1. To serve as the organized voice of amateur radio businesses and organizations, ensuring that the perspectives of the industry, from independent retailers to major manufacturers, from specialized to national organizations, are heard wherever decisions affecting the hobby are made.
  2. To pursue, through collective effort, the sustained growth of the hobby, building both the operator base and the broader public awareness of amateur radio's value.
  3. To serve as a collaborative vehicle for coordinated promotional efforts, enabling member businesses and organizations to amplify their individual voices and present the hobby to the world with a unified and compelling message.
  4. To specifically work in cooperation with ARRL, RAC, IARU, ITU, and other established national and international bodies to advance legislation, regulations, and spectrum policy that support and protect the hobby.

A Deliberate Path to Formalization

Ham Alliance will launch as an intentional, informal coalition. This founding cohort period, running from 2026 to end-2030, is designed to build relationships, demonstrate value, and allow the alliance's priorities to be shaped by the members that choose to participate. In 2031, founding cohort members will convene to establish Ham Alliance as a formal organization, with governance, membership structure, and standing commensurate with its mission.

Businesses and organizations that join during this founding period will be recognized as charter participants in that formal organization.

Next step

If your business or organization believes in the future of amateur radio and wants a seat at the table as Ham Alliance takes shape, we invite you to express your interest to join the founding cohort. There is no cost to participate at this stage. There is only the opportunity to help build something that serves the entire industry.
